Dog beds

pillow dog bedsYour dog's bed provides a warm, comfortable and safe place for them to relax, rest and sleep. All dogs love their bed! So, make sure you choose one which your dog will enjoy, not just one that fits in with your decor, or looks cute!

As with dog crates, dog beds should be placed in a position which is draft free and will provide peace and quiet.

Dog beds - nests or pillows?

The main consideration to take into account when choosing a bed for your dog or puppy is how your dog likes to sleep. If he likes to sleep curled up then nest beds are more suitable. However, if he likes to sprawl out then dog pillow beds are the order of the day and the larger the better!

If you are using a dog crate (recommended) for your puppy then pillow beds usually fit better.

Short haired dogs may like fur lined pet beds to keep them warm whereas for dogs which shed a lot dog beds with smooth fabric will be easier to keep clean.

You can also choose from dome beds, heated and orthopaedic dog beds. Some have removable covers, which allow for machine washing, others are small enough to be washed as a whole.

Plastic beds are strong and allow for thorough cleaning. Line them with your own dog blankets. These can also be taken when your dog goes into kennels to provide added comfort and security.
